Last Thursday's action was cut short due to a huge storm that passed through so no points were awarded. The weekend brought great "summer" weather that drew 7 people to the course for Sunday's Tag League round. Rene stayed undefeated in League-play although Courtney was making him nervous. They were tied at 4 under after the front 9. Rene took the lead starting the back nine and although Courtney made a late charge to close the gap it wasn't enough. The "Most Improved" award goes to Todd Ashworth - he has been playing solid disc golf consistently for the past couple months. Sunday, Todd finished in 3rd place shooting 2 over par on the Red/Orange layout. Full Sunday results are below and overall point league standings can be found on it's designated page.
The The Rocktown Disc Golf Club put on an awesome tournament Saturday with $1400 added cash from sponsors. The tournament was 3 players shy of being full. The weather provided the competitors a beautiful warm sunny day to battle for a piece of "the rock." After the first round which was played to shorts, Courtney Biel found himself in the lead by 1 shot for the Advanced AM division. There were 10 players within 4 shots of the lead including Ned Gearing 2 shots back and Jonathan Britts 4 back of the lead. The rest of the 16 player division were close behind leaving everyone a chance for the win going into the final round especially since it was a longer layout. Courtney struggled at times during the 2nd round and carded numerous bogeys while only managing to get 3 birdies. Once all the scorecards were in and counted, Ned Gearing was crowned the Advanced AM champ leaving Courtney 4 shots behind in 6th place. The full tournament results can be found at the PDGA Event page

As of yesterday, there was $1400 in added cash(add still rising) which will be split between the Pros and AMs. The weather forecast is looking awesome... sunny, high of 79, and no chance of rain. There are still spots open, so get signed up.
Thursday's Results: No tag league action was reported to happen on Sunday. Tag League Point Series standings have been updated.
Last Thursday, there was no evidence of an official tag league round being held at The Fox. The weekend brought sunny skies, warm weather, and more disc golfers. We had 6 show up Sunday for tag league. Rene remains undefeated in rounds that he has played; rumor has it that he has hired a head-hunter to bring him back some real competition.
